Welcome to Cappadocia Cave Rooms web site. Cappadocia Cave Rooms is a special guest house located in the historical Cappadocia region. Today Cappadocia is a Unesco world heritage site and a popular travel destination. In this area there are stunning rock formations, rock dug churches, troglodyte settlements and even underground cities.

My name is Tolun Cerkes, I am an archaeologist who love mountains. I am the owner, who manages Cappadocia Cave Rooms. In 2003 I bought a complex of abandoned houses by the so called Pigeons valley. Having a higher position up above the region these derelict houses offered a unique view over the valleys. Being in the bosom of the nature by the orchards of peasants in the valley and having a great historical and archaeological value I decided to restore these houses and transform them into a boutique hotel. The area is an historical ancient site under protection by Turkish laws. So I needed to find specialized architects to get a restoration project prepared complying with historical texture of the village. After the approval of this project by the Ministry of Culture I was able to start the restoration works. After several years of hard working with professional restoration masters and workers, I have been able to open some of the cave rooms which are now capable to host my guests. While working in the house I found a tunnel which connected the house to a network of tunnels and settlements in the underground.

Cappadocia Cave Rooms is an eagle's nest, a place offering extraordinary panoramic views over the region. When the weather is clear it is possible to see the 3916 meters high Argeus mountain in the horizon, about 75 km from there. The rock castle further up on the hill seem to be inhabited by Hittites and Early Christians who always needed safe strategic places to defend themselves. Cappadocia Cave Rooms is located at an altitude of approximately 1250 meters where the winds may blow strong and the air is clean. This kind of rooms carved out in the rocks in all over the area were much liked by the old inhabitants for being cool in summer and warm in winter.
